weekly weigh-in

I am down 1.2 lbs this week. I am amazed to be down on Christmas week at all! And to be down 1.2 lbs means that I am down an overall 40 lbs since July 23!!! Woohoo!!! I am so excited! Another milestone hit! To quote one of my daughters favorite tv characters "Yay me!"

Good Things

I am so happy! I put on my wedding rings today and they fit!!! I have had them on a chain for the longest time and now I can wear them on my hands again for all to see.

I am back to counting calories again and it feels good to be being healthy again. I am being good and sticking to my calorie limit but not under. I am listening to my body and eating when I am hungry. I am back on the road to a healthier me!

My Christmas Day

Well, I had a wonderful Christmas day. Watching my girls was too much fun and the food was wonderful. I was nervous over trying Tofurkey for the first time on Christmas day, but it was WONDERFUL. I LOVED the veggies with it. I will be having leftovers again today (probably for all my meals. LOL). I ate too much Tofurkey and vegan peanut butter cookies and vegan banana muffins, but that's what happens at Christmas, isn't it? Oh well, it was wonderful and so worth it!

weekly weigh-in

Last week, I forgot to post my loss. I was down 0.4 lbs. Not a lot but that's okay, I made up for it this week. This week I lost 3 lbs!!! woohoo!!! I am closing in on 40 lbs lost now, only 1.2 lbs to go!

Choices

It isn't always easy finding vegan options when I am out and about with the kids. I have a little list of things that can be found at fast food places (McDonald's fruit pies and Subway Veggie sub) but sometimes my plans fall through.

The two babies had their hearing checked early this morning (they were fine) and after we were done, we thought we would reward them with breakfast at the McDonalds in Walmart. Well, I got up and placed my order only to find out that the only vegan option at McDonald's is not available during breakfast hours. But rather than give in and get a vegetarian option instead, I ordered a cup of coffee for myself as a treat and went into Walmart and picked up some nuts for myself.

I am proud of myself. I had a small portion of a breakfast that was rich in fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidants such as Vitamin E, selenium, plant sterols and omega 3. This time of year, there are so many temptations and if I can stick to my guns this time of year, I can do it anytime.

I have also been thinking about makeup and trying to find vegan options for that too. I don't eat animal products it seems gross to me to spread them on my face, you know?

What a difference it makes

I am going to be coloring my hair soon and the change will be so dramatic, I thought I would get a before pic first. So I set up a timer on my poor dying camera and took a pic. When I saw it, I thought, "NO no no. This will not do, I look tired and sloppy and BIG." So since I was going out anyway, I got dressed to go, put on a better fitting shirt, I did my hair and took my pic again. When I looked at the pic my first thought was, "HOLY COW! I lost like 10 lbs!" Just putting on a less baggy shirt, tidying my hair and standing up straight, made me look so much smaller! I think there is a lesson for me in there somewhere.

weekly weigh-in

I forgot to tell you about my weigh-in on Friday. I was only down .2lbs, but I am not at all stressed about it, I am eating healthy, I am never hungry, and I am pretty active. I can only just keep getting healthier from here on out.

I am happy to say that I noticed last night that a few more things are fitting me now that weren't before. I love those kinds of victories.
